Branson Barr - Big Bucks and Gaited Horses

This is one of my favorite episodes in a long time. I came across Branson through his social media page. I knew right off we were kindred spirits. Branson loves to chase big mule deer and hunts with gaited horses. We chat about a three year saga chasing a monster buck in his home state of Colorado. He talks about the moment he decided he needed gaited horses for the backcountry. We also discuss bringing our kids along on our adventures. Enjoy!

Henry Ferguson - Colorado Changes Coming

Henry and I jump on to discuss all the major changes coming to big game hunting in Colorado, some as early as this year. The three big changes we discuss are the end of over-the-counter archery elk tags for non residents, the addition of some "first rifle" deer permits in a number of units, and the change from a pure preference point system for deer, elk, and antelope to a hybrid 50/50 preference and random pool drawing. We discuss how these changes will affect the draws and how to best use your points. Enjoy!

New Mexico 2025 Overview

I give you all the basic information you need to know before applying in the New Mexico big game draw. I include permit, application, and hunting license fees. I breakdown permit allocation percentages. I briefly explain the youth opportunity. I end with a 30,000 foot view of each species category.
